Mother sow farm
The life of mother sows in factory farms is a life dedicated to reproduction. Placed in cages the size of their bodies (60cm wide x 1m high x 2.20m long), they are barred with iron bars and prevented from turning around or moving beyond stretching or standing up. Their reproductive life begins at approximately 7 months. They give birth to 2 to 3 litters per year. From the 6th or 7th time their bodies begin to suffer wear and tear and embryonic mortality is more likely and their litters are smaller. Their productivity is altered, they are not profitable so they are taken to the slaughterhouse to be slaughtered.
